Founding Product Designer, SF

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Founding Product Designer at Wrangle, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The responsibilities are centered on owning product design end to end, including UX, UI, and interaction design for core customer-facing workflows. You will work closely with the founding team to design, iterate, and ship high-quality product experiences, while helping define and scale the design system as the product surface area grows.

You will have significant agency and ownership in a fast-moving environment, with direct impact on how the product looks, feels, and is used. This role is deeply embedded in product execution and decision-making, not a handoff role.

Process

If selected from the initial pool, you will be briefly screened by one of the founders for eligibility. There will be a second screen to assess design ability, product thinking, and culture fit. If selected post-screen, you will communicate directly with the founding team to set up a paid work trial. You will be given a specific product area or problem to design and iterate on, and will be evaluated on clarity of thinking, quality of execution, ability to follow guidelines, and use of available resources (AI permitted).

Qualifications

Strong portfolio of shipped work, side projects, or passion-driven exploration
Strong design sense and high level of craft demonstrated in work
Ability to think in systems, flows, and product tradeoffs
Experience designing complex or data-heavy products is a plus
Comfort working closely with engineers and founders
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Prior startup experience preferred but not required
Prior founding or early-stage experience is a strong plus
Ability to work hybrid and be in the office (Menlo Park or SF) multiple days a week

Compensation

Compensation is in the $100k–150k range, with competitive equity.
